Richard O. Perry of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly on Sat. November 21st at the age of 76. Born in Duxbury, MA, he was the son of the late Manuel and Pauline (Barbosa) Perry. His family includes daughters Donna Perry of New Bedford, Dianne Langford-James of Worcester, Gail McCarthy of New Bedford and a son Kevin Hamilton of Brockton. He is the father of the late Eunice Perry and Francis Collins and was the former husband of Eunice P. (Andrews) Gonsalves of New Bedford. Richard also leaves his love and companion of many years, Jan Baptist of New Bedford. Survivors also include his brother Manuel Mendes of RI, sisters; Evelyn Coelho of Stoughton, Lois Perry of FL, Janet DePina of New Bedford, 11 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. He is predeceased by sisters Alice Pina, Lorraine Dias, Judy Jardine, Beatrice Mendes, and Rosetta Mendes, brothers Louie Mendes, Freddy Mendes, Ralph Mendes and Lester Perry. Richard was an employee of the Plymouth Rubber Co. of Canton MA for many years and retired from Hartz Mason Manufacturing of Watertown MA as Chief Executive Officer. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was an avid golfer. Calling hours will be held Friday November 27th form 4-8 pm at Shepherd Funeral Home 216 Main St. (Rte 106) Kingston MA. A Service will be held Saturday November 28th at 10am at the funeral home with a burial at Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury to follow.
