Shirley M. (Backstrom) Madden, of Brockton and Hanover, died on November 10, 2009. She was 85 years old. Beloved wife of the late Robert Madden. Devoted mother of Robert Madden Jr. and wife Laurie of Hanson, Maryann O’Neil and husband Robert of Kingston, and Markita Ivens and husband Peter of Scituate. Loving Mammy to grandchildren Luke, Amber, Matthew, Amanda, Maura, Justin, Elaina, Michael, Patrick, and great grandchildren Jordan, Matthew, Kaylin, and Brooke. A private memorial service will be held in Round Pond, Maine. Please make a donation in Shirley’s memory to the Norwell Visiting Nurse Assoc Hospice, 91 Longwater Circle, Norwell, MA 02061.
