Dear Mr. Haigh, We are so sorry for your terrible loss. We so appreciated your wife's kindness, intelligence, and support during a difficult time for us. Our son Steven particularly had a great fondness for Sue and he, too, is saddened by her passing. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. Our prayer is that God will bring healing to you. The world is a poorer place without Susan Haigh in it, but what an advocate we have in Heaven.

John, Margaret & Libbey, and Sue's loved ones - One had only to know Sue for a moment to catch the breath of spirit that exuded from within. There was a look, a smile, and always a knowing of what that very moment meant. I have read the condolences of others, all so beautifully written; she was the most spiritual person I have ever met, always there doing for others. I am blessed to have known this special lady, to have her in my heart and soul. We all feel the same, so sad for all of you, and please know we will try to pass along this spirit.

There are very few people we encounter on our journey with spirits so loving, pure and giving. We all share in the great loss of losing our Dear Sue. I will fondly remember and greatly miss her beautiful voice, her laugh and her unconditional friendship. Her kindness of spirit, compassion and generosity of knowledge and time empowered countless others learning of a new diagnosis.
It was my pleasure, honor and privilege to have known Susan Haigh. Please cherish your memories as know I will because I'm afraid I will never encounter and love a friend as much as I loved my friend Sue. I will keep her close to my heart forever.

The Dash
by Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning to the end.
He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth and now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own, the cars, the house, the cash, what matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard; are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left that can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real and always try to understand the way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile, remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.
So when your eulogy is being read with your life's actions to rehash would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash?
We all can aspire to the way Sue lived her dash! Johnny, Libby, & Margie I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss her smiling face everyday. It was truly an honor and a privilege to know her and love her.

My Thoughts and Prayers goes out to Johnny Haigh and Family. The first person I met at Amtrak was Susie. That was 32 years ago. The Impression she made on me was " Is She for Real".She made me feel so at ease and was so patient during my training.Time goes on.. But there are some people you never forget. I'm a Manager now and when I'm training New Hires I hear myself saying things Susie said to me. Boy was I lucky to have met her. Sincerely, Donna Barton

My condolences to the Haigh family. I have Golden Retrievers and whenever Sue and I met we would remenise about our dogs. I could always spot her right away with her Golden pocketbook or her Golden jacket. We shared a love for these precious family members.
I will always remember her dearly.

Words cannot express my sadness over losing my dearest friend. We have been friends for more than 20 years. I do, however, feel so lucky and so blessed that she was part of my life for so long. We have been though a lot together over the years. She was the most thoughtful, generous and courageous woman I have ever met, and my life has been so enriched just by knowing her. She fought the good fight and her determination to beat the cancer that was part of her life for almost 25 years never ceased to amaze me. She never complained, she just kept pressing on, helping others along the way. As much as I will miss her, I do find some solace in knowing that her suffering is over and she is flying with the angels....pain-free! My sincerest condolences to John, Libby and Margaret and all her family and friends all of whom share my pain.

To Sue and her family- I have known Sue for almost 20 years and she has been a source of courage and inspiration to me since the day I met her. She was the first person I called after my own breast cancer diagnosis and gave me the strength to carry on through the ordeal. When talking with others who have battled this horrible disease my words of encouragement always started with "you should hear about my friend Sue". I will miss her terribly and though with busy lives making time pass too quickly I wish we had connected more. I wish you peace, freedom and all the connections of Spirit that I know you felt and believed in my friend. Love always, Marie

What a sad day for us, but a blessed day for Sue. She certainly fought the good fight and when asked "how are you", of course she was fine. It was all about you whether it be self or "kids", i.e., dogs. I treasure my many conversations with Sue and will miss "Sue here" when she phoned. My sincere sympathy to you John and her family. She will be truly missed by all at Conway Country and the Dog World. We have lost a true friend and gem! Marge Gorman

For the past 10 years I've had the honor and the pleasure of knowing Sue through Jack Conway and the relocations network. Sue was always the one I turned to when I needed advice or assistance. Always willing to help, Sue's professionalism was second only to her compassionate nature. She's an inspiration, and will sorely be missed professionally and personally at Vernon A. Martin Realtors. Rest in peace Sue.

John, Margaret, Libby,
My heart is full of wonderful memories of Sue and my Emmanuel College days, of singing together, and of becoming special friends during our younger years. My wonderful visits to the Whitmore house in Melrose, my years of living in Melrose, and finally Sue's visit to see my parents when I lived in Framingham, are all just as clear as if they happened yesterday. Sue even played the foot pedals of the organ while I played the keys, saving me from embarrassing myself at a friend's wedding. What a precious gift she was. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Suey
