Obituary of William R. Monks

William R. (Bill) Monks of Plymouth passed away August 26th , after a long illness at the age of 88. He was the husband of the late Elinore J. Monks. Mr. Monks was a decorated veteran of WW II and served in the Army Air Corps in Italy, Palestine, and Libya, during the North Africa campaign. He was a charter boat captain in Plymouth for many years. He worked as a manager with Air Reduction Corporation for 25 years, and after retirement became the owner of a successful welding supply business in N.C. before a second retirement to his home in Plymouth. His two sons; Weston Monks and his wife Mary Lou of Brewster, MA, and Roger W. Monks and his wife Bernadette of Plymouth, MA survive him. Mr. Monks is also survived by his 6 Grandchildren; Lauren Doucette of Brewster MA., Stacy Beevers-Carter of West Bath , ME, Courtney Giovinazzi of Bath, ME, Alison Collins of Eastham, MA., Mylee Weston Monks of Plymouth, MA and Parker Ally Monks of Plymouth, MA. William is also survived by 14 Great- Grandchildren, and leaves his brother Robert Monks and his wife Betty of Woolwich, ME, and a sister, Virginia Petrell of Plymouth, MA.
