Obituary of Paul J. Mahoney

Paul J. Mahoney, 72, of Duxbury, and formerly of Belmont, died unexpectedly, June 10. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Mitchell) Mahoney. Born in Belmont, he was the son of the late Oliver and Margaret (Coyne) Mahoney. He was the loving father of Kelly Santosuosso of Duxbury, Victoria Keefe and her husband Stephen of Duxbury, Michael Mahoney of Sagamore Beach, Veronica Hayes and her husband Ronald of Plymouth, Matthew Mahoney and his wife Elizabeth of Arlington, devoted grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Paul was the brother of Richard Mahoney of RI and the late Oliver Mahoney, Mary Hunter, and William Mahoney. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Mahoney served in the US Army. He was a retired police sergeant with the Belmont Police Dept. He was a member of the ELKS in both Watertown and Plymouth, and a member of the American Legion in Duxbury.Funeral from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St., Rt. 14, Pembroke Center on Mon. June 15 at 9:00AM, followed by a funeral Mass at Holy Family Church, Duxbury at 10:00AM. Interment in Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury. Visiting hours on Sun. 4-8PM.
