Obituary of Elisabeth W. Dennett

Elisabeth W. (Fillebrown) Dennett, died Apr. 14 at the H.B.G. Shaw Home in Middleboro. She was 102. Affectionately known as “Aunt Lib”, she was a resident of Plympton for 97 years and held the Boston Post Cane as the oldest resident of Plympton before moving to the Hannah Shaw Home. She was an active member of the Plympton Congregational Church, singing in the choir and attending the ladies sewing circle. She was dedicated to the Dennett Elementary School in Plympton which was named after her family. Elisabeth was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Jordan Hospital, an active leader and member of the 4-H Club, and member of the Garden Club and Historical Society in Plympton. She and her late husband James owned and operated the Dennett Cottages in Sagamore Beach.
Elisabeth was the wife of the late James W. Dennett. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, great grand nieces and nephews and great great grand nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Sat. Apr. 25 at the Plympton Congregational Church at 11:00AM. Visiting hours on Fri. at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., Kingston from 4-8PM.
