"Retired Halifax Business Woman, Co-Owner of Elena's Restaurant." Elena A. (Gentile) Cimorelli, a lifelong resident of Halifax, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 85 on March 17, 2009 at the Jordan Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hanson, MA she is the daughter of the late Cesare & Grace (Cianfarani) Gentile, and a graduate of Whitman H.S. She is survived by her children; Peter Cimorelli of Plymouth, Anthony Cimor elli of Bridgewater and Connie Woodbury of Quincy. Sister of Albrico Gentile of Halifax, Rubina Kelley of NJ, Gloria Ricci of AZ and the late Sonny, Phillip, Cesare, Polibio and Leo. Grandmother of; Peter, Dan, Leigh, Joseph, Kevin, Michael, Lisa, Paula, Tommy, Stephen and the late Paul Cimorelli. Great Grandmother of Benjamin Cimorelli. Guardian of James Lane of Halifax. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Elena began her own business in 1958 as “Elena’s Snack Bar” in Monponsett and in 1971 she and her son Peter founded “Elena’s Restaurant” in Halifax. She was extremely devoted to her family and friends. Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 22nd from 3-7pm at Shepherd Funeral Home 7 Mattakeesett St. (Rte 14, Pembroke Center) Pembroke MA. Family and friends are welcomed to gather at the funeral home Monday, March 23rd at 8am with a funeral mass to follow at 9am at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Halifax MA, burial at Central Cemetery, Halifax.
