My condolences to the entire family, I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. McCluskey brought me into this world in 1948 at the Phaneuf Hospital. He was our family doctor for many, many years and I too, remember the house calls that he made to our home, in Montello. Growing into my adult years, I have thought of him often, he will be deeply missed.

When I was a child living in Brockton, Dr. McCluskey was our family doctor. In October, 1959, I got pneumonia at my 7th birthday party and I remember he came to the house to give me penicillin shots a few times - a real house call making doctor! When I couldn't swallow the huge penicillin pills his doctor associate gave me, Dr. McCluskey found a children's orange flavored penicillin syrup that I could handle. He saved my life and I've always remembered him. God bless always.

The entire Dyer family extends its sincere sympathy to Helen, and all the McCluskeys. Helen, I am sure that Cora and Joe have already welcomed John to his well-deserved place in heaven. We who remain here are praying for you, and wishing you and your entire family well at this difficult time. John will undoubtedly be remembered as the first champion of the Manchester Road Race. More importantly, he will be remembred as a selfless and compassionate physician who profoundly touched so many lives. Please know that John and you are both in our thoughts and prayers.

We were juggling some things to be able to come to the 100th celebration. We will be unable to make the funeral. I remember when I was in nursing school how I would always be quizzed by Uncle John. He and Helen even took time to come visit me at Johns Hopkins while on their way to Florida. He was so good to our mother as she struggled to make sense of what was happening to her. He will be missed by many in many ways. I lisitened to Danny Boy when I heard of his death.
