Obituary of Porter W. Loring

Porter W. Loring, of Plymouth, and Kingston, died on February 18, 2009. He was 80 years old. Mr. Loring was born and raised in Kingston. For much of his life he worked as a carpenter, and then worked maintenance at the Plymouth Police Department prior to his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion of Plymouth, and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and shell fishing. Loving husband of the late Lorraine Loring. Father of Thomas and Christine Loring of Middleboro, and David Loring of Plymouth. Brother of Fred Loring of Kingston, Robert C. Loring Jr. of FL, Helen Smith of Kingston, and the late Phyllis Loring. Grandfather of Joseph J. Loring of Plympton. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 22nd from 2-5:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Rt. 106) Kingston. A graveside service will be held at Oak Grove cemetery in Plymouth on Monday, February 23rd at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123-1718.
