Alton Borghesani, of Kingston, died Jan. 6 at Radius Healthcare in Plymouth. He was 83. He was the son of the late Otto and Blanche (Lessard) Borghesani. He was married 51 years to the late Barbara (Reidenbach) Borghesani. Loving father of Robert A. Borghesani of Plymouth, Barry A. Borghesani and his wife Maureen of Plymouth, and Barbara J. Hennessey and her husband Edward of Kingston. Grandfather of Lissha Borghesani, James Borghesani, William Borghesani, Alison Borghesani, David Hennessey, Kathleen Hennessey and one great grandchild, Morgan Glennon. Brother of Claire Govoni and her husband Joseph of Plympton, and the late Mary Baker, Louis Borghesani, Richard Borghesani and Francis Borghesani. He served in the US Army as an MP during WWII from 1943-1946. Mr Borghesani was employed as a book binder with Pilgrim Publishers in the late 1970’s and also with Halliday Lithograph in Plympton for 10 years. He also ran Al’s Texaco Service Station in Kingston in the 1960’s.He was a former member of the Kingston Civil Defense, a member of the Mayflower Congregational Church, and he did volunteer work at Evanswood Nursing Home in Kingston from 2000-2001 playing the guitar for the residents. Visiting hours from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., Kingston, on Wed. Jan. 14, from 4-8PM. Funeral Service at the Mayflower Congregational Church, 207 Main St., Kingston on Thurs. Jan. 15 at 10:00AM. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Kingston, weather permitting. Memorial donations may be made to the Mayflower Congregational Church.
