Sophie M. (Bodwicz) Lucier, of Lakeville, formerly of Avon, Plymouth, and Carver, died Nov. 10 at the Island Terrace Nursing Home. She was 100 years old. Born on July 6, 1908 in Bridgewater, she was the daughter of Martin and Sophia (Okuniewicz) Bodwicz. She was the wife of the late George N. Lucier, and the mother of the late Beverly Washburn She is survived by her five granddaughters; Patricia Washburn of Taunton, Deborah Washburn of Florida, Karen Davidson of Dennisport, Kathleen Grimmer of W. Barnstable, and Lynn Washburn of Providence and three great grand children. She was the sister of Jane Keough of Bridgewater, Nancy Bodwicz of Lakeville, and her late siblings; Martin Bodwicz, William Bodwicz, Frederick Bodwicz, Walter Bodwicz, and Genevieve Morris. Mrs. Lucier was raised and educated in Bridgewater. She was formerly employed at Victory Shoe Co. in Avon as a factory worker. She resided most of her life in Avon, Plymouth, twenty years in Carver, and the past four years in Lakeville. She enjoyed her yard, gardening and doing needlework. Funeral from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Rt. 58, Carver on Fri. Nov. 14 at 8:00AM, followed by a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Carver at 9:00AM. Interment in Plymouth County Cemetery, Plymouth. Visiting hours on Thurs. from 3-7PM. Memorial donations may be made to Island Terrace Nursing Home, 57 Long Point Rd. Lakeville, MA 02347
