James T. Shea Jr., (Ret. BFD) of Pembroke died on Sept 25, 2008 in Abington at the age of 88. He was the husband of the late Dorothea (Ford) Shea. Father of Roy Melanson and his wife Karen of Whitman, Dorothea Shea of Foxboro, Brian Shea and his wife Randi of Everett and the late James Shea and John Shea. Step Daughter Diane McAlpine and her husband Frank of Bourne. Daughter-In –Law Betty Shea of Milton, Brother of Doris Noonan of S.Boston, Tom Shea of Hyde Park, Carol Devlin of Boston and the late Johney, Wally and Bobby Shea. Grandfather of Kerrie Shea McClellan and Alex S. Will. Many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, also survive him. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday Sept. 28, 2008 from 4-8pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home (Rt-14 Pembroke Center). Family and Friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Mon. Sept. 29, 2008 at 9am followed by a mass at St. Joseph’s the Worker Church in Hanson at 10am. Burial will be in Center Cemetery in Pembroke. James was born on Boston, was a graduated of Boston Latin and has lived in Pembroke since 1932. He was a WWII vet in the Marine’s and was a Boston Firefighters for 40 years. James was a member of the American Legion, Irish Gaelic Brigade and the International Assoc. of Fire Fighter’s. He enjoyed being the caretaker of his wife and family
