Faye M. Nelson, of Duxbury, died on July 24, 2008. She was 97 years old. She was the wife of the late Rev. Ralph C. Nelson, former pastor of Central Baptist Church in Quincy. Faye was born in Westbrook, Minnesota on February 1, 1911, and is the daughter of the late Edward and Blandina Madson. She is the sister of the late Alan Madson. She graduated from N. Western Bible College in Minneapolis, MN. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Duxbury where she enjoyed Christian fellowship with many of the parishioners. She was an avid sports fan, and also enjoyed gardening and watching her birdfeeders. She was an excellent cook and was particularly known for her outstanding pies. She is survived by her son Dr. Clement Nelson and his wife Ellen of Chatham, NH, and formerly of Marshfield, and a daughter Marlene Nelson of Melrose. Three grandsons, Erik Nelson and his wife Kim of Marshfield, Scott Nelson and his wife Cheryl of Scituate, and Todd Nelson of Miami, FL. She is also survived by four great grandsons, and one great granddaughter. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 29th from 4-7:00PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St (Rt. 106) Kingston. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Duxbury. Burial will be at the Blue Hills Cemetery in Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Duxbury, 2 Tremont St, Duxbury, MA 02332 and/or Mercy Ships, PO Box 2020, Garden Valley, TX 75771-2020 (903)939-7000.
