Thomas P. Scott Jr. of Duxbury died on June 24, 2008. he was 87 years old.
Mr. Scott served as a Captain in the United States Army during World War II. He received his undergraduate and Masters Degree from North Carolina State University, School of Textiles. Formerly a resident of Needham, MA, he was a member of the Needham First Baptist Church. He also was a Mason and past master of the Norfolk Lodge. He retired from the William Carter Co after 35 years in fabric research and development.
On June 19, 2008, he and wife Flora celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with their three children and families.
Mr. Scott is the beloved husband of Flora Scott of Duxbury. Loving father of Thomas P. Scott III and his wife Beverly of VA, Marsha MacFarland of Duxbury, and Sandra Scott, and Michael Cunning of Duxbury. Cherished grandfather of Stephanie Hess, Thomas P. Scott IV, Keith Wood, Betsy Raghu, Amy MacFarland, Robert MacFarland, Daniel Frongillo, Elyse Frongillo, and Matthew Frongillo, and great grandfather of 8. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 858 Great Plain Ave, Needham, MA 02492 and/or the Duxbury Senior Center, 10 Mayflower St, Duxbury, MA 02332.
