Obituary of Helen M. Slattery

Helen M. (Leary) Slattery, of Duxbury, age 80, died Wednesday February 27 in Jordan Hospital Plymouth. Mrs. Slattery was born in Somerville and had lived in Hyde Park for 25 years before moving to Marshfield for 10 years prior to moving to Duxbury last year.
Mrs. Slattery had worked for the Boston Public Schools in various capacities for 20 years before retiring.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Marshfield Senior Citizens Club. Mrs. Slattery enjoyed and had traveled throughout the world.
She is survived by her sons George E. Slattery III of Duxbury, Christopher W. Slattery of Braintree, daughters Jane E. Mazares of Duxbury and Patricia M. Scouten of Birmingham Alabama.
She is also survived by her brother Thomas Leary of Greensboro N.C. , sisters Marie Leary and Elizabeth Leary of Somerville. She was the sister of the late John Leary, Margaret Leary and Nora Boisvert.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sarah, Michael, Gregory and Stephanie.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday March 1 from the Shepherd Funeral Home 7 Mattakeesett St. (Rt. 14) Pembroke at 9:00 followed by a funeral mass in Holy Family Church Duxbury at 10:00
Burial will be in Mayflower Cemetery Duxbury.
Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4-8.
