Gibbons, Thomas M. Sr. of Kingston. February 24, 2007. Age 65. Beloved Husband of Barbara (Gill) Gibbons of Kingston. Loving Father of Thomas M. Gibbons Jr. and his Wife Jill of Plymouth, and Jeannine Gibbons of Kingston. Cherished Grandfather of James Patrick Gibbons. Son in Law of Margaret Gill of Carver. Brother of Richard Gibbons of Plymouth, Ann Marie Ahearn, and the late Walter Gibbons. Thomas is also survived by his extended family and friends. Mr. Gibbons was born in S. Boston, and is a graduate of Dorchester High School. Following his graduation from high school he went to work for the Polaroid Company as a carpenter in Waltham. He was also enlisted in the National Guard during this time. Mr. Gibbons was very active in youth sports. He was a coach for little league baseball in S. Boston. He is the President and a coach for the Babe Ruth minor league in Plymouth, and a Manomet Center basketball coach. Mr. Gibbons is the former commissioner, and played in the Carver Men’s Softball League. Mr. Gibbons was an avid Boston sports fan, as well as a Notre Dame football fan. He enjoyed playing golf, taking cruises to Bermuda, and spending time with his family and friends.Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 28th from 4-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. Kingston. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 29th at St. Mary’s Church, 327 Court St. Plymouth at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at the St. Joseph cemetery in Kingston. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the James Patrick Gibbons Trust Fund @ Citizens Bank, 160 Summer St, Kingston, MA 02364.
