Obituary of Barbara A. Govoni

Barbara A. (Peterson) Govoni, of Duxbury, died Feb. 3 at the Life Care Center in Plymouth. Born on Jan. 28, 1931, in Duxbury, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Alice (McPhee) Peterson She was the wife of the late Robert F. Govoni. She was a homemaker who cared for twenty six foster children throughout her life. She was a member of Holy Family Church in Duxbury, She was the loving mother of Dennis M. Govoni of FL, Robert A. Govoni of Mashpee, MA, Penny J. Phillips of Plymouth, Tracy L. Cook of Whitinsville, MA and the late Airman Andrew T. Govoni. She was the sister of Vera Beacienski of Taunton, Marion Wedge of Brockton, and Virginia Turner of Kingston. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. Kingston on Thurs. Feb. 7 at 10:00AM, followed by a funeral Mass at Holy Family Church, Duxbury at 11:00AM. Interment in Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury. Visiting hours on Wed. 2-4 and 7-9PM. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont St., Duxbury, MA 02332.
