Mary Mangio of Pembroke died on Jan. 23, 2008 at the Windgate at Silver Lake Nursing Home in Kingston at the age of 89. She was the wife of the late John Vincent Mangio. Mother of Charles Mangio, Nancy Davidson, Janice Martin and Michelle Cadman. Daughter of the late Alfred Augustus Dornlas and Mary Elizabeth. She was predeceased by all her siblings. She is the grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 4. She is also survived by her long-time best friend Lillian Ferrucci and her family. Mary was born in Boston and was educated in Boston. School system and attended Stonehill College were she obtained her certificate in food preparation . She worked at Laboratory Kitchen, Wescraft Cards, Russell Stovers Chocolates , First Pyro and was the first cook at Queen Ann’s Nursing Home. She enjoyed Astrology, Camping, Braiding Rugs, Cooking and Baking the best Apple Pies in the world. Calling Hours will be held on Sun Jan. 27, 2008 from 4-8pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home (Rte 14) Pembroke Center. Family and Friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Mon Jan 28, 2008 at 9am followed by a mass at St Thecla’s Church in Pembroke at 10am. Burial will be in Center Cemetery in Pembroke.
