Agnes F. “Butchie” O’Fihelly Ballinger of Middleboro, formerly of Kingston and Plymouth, died on January 12, 2008. She was 60 years old. Mrs. Ballinger was born, raised, and educated in Plymouth. Following her graduation from high school she married her husband, James E. Ballinger Jr. She worked for Plymouth Nursing Home during this time. Mrs. Ballinger owned her own business, Reliance K-9 Systems, with her husband for many years. She was an internationally known dog breeder of police service dogs. She was a volunteer for the Sheriffs Department of Plymouth County for many years, and was highly recognized for her contributions to the Sheriffs department. She was also a member of the Kingston Town Democratic Committee. Mrs. Ballinger was also an aide for the special needs program at the Kingston Elementary School. Mrs. Ballinger’s love of her life was her family. She was the strongest person her family ever knew, and she was not the type of person to ever give up. She will be missed by many. Mrs. Ballinger is the beloved wife of James E. Ballinger Jr. of Middleboro. Loving Mother of Samuel W. Ballinger Jr. of TX, Patrick E. Ballinger of Middleton, Theresa M. Ballinger-Loring of Kingston, Detective Sgt. Timothy P. Ballinger of Kingston, Dir. Kenneth J. Ballinger of Mashpee, Nicholas C. Ballinger of NH, and Daniel F. Ballinger of AZ. Sister of Jeremiah O’Fihelly of TX, James O’Fihelly of Kingston, Maryanne Caldera of Plymouth, and Catherine Butters of Kingston. Cherished Grandmother of 20. She is also survived by many Nieces and Nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 16th from 4-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St (Rt. 106) Kingston. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 17th at St. Joseph’s Church, 272 Main St. Kingston at 12:00 PM. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Kingston. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Agnes name to the Agnes Ballinger Medical Fund at your local Rockland Trust Savings Bank location.
