Resmo (Steve) Gavoni of Plympton formally of Braintree and Quincy died suddenly at home surrounded by his nieces Frances and her husband James Ludgren, his nieces Barbara Gavoni and great nephew Gabriel Ludgren at the age of 94. In addition to his nieces and great nephew he leaves behind his cousin Catherine McCargar of CA, his dear friends Sonny and Arlene Tocchio of Quincy and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 40 years Irene (Bumpus).Predeceased by his siblings Louis, Ilma, Dante, Argia, Rose, Allesandro and Alma. Resmo has lived in Plympton for the past year with his nieces and her family and prior in Braintree and Quincy. He was a member of the Merchant Marines during WWII and was very proud of his serves and had many stories about the war. Resmo was very political minded and was interested in world affairs. He worked at General Dynamics in Quincy for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening in which he grew tomatoes and strawberries to give to family and friends. Calling Hours will be held on Wed. Jan 9, 2008 from 8:30-9:30am at the Shepherd Funeral 216 Main St (Rte106) Kingston followed by a mass at St Joseph’s Church in Kingston at 10am. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Weymouth. He will be loved and sadly missed by all who knew him.
