Olive Copland MacQuarrie died on Monday, December 3, 2007. She was born November 11, 1919 in Quincy, MA and graduated from North Quincy High School and Katherine Gibbs School. She was married to the late Allan J. MacQuarrie, Jr. of Newton, MA. A resident of Weymouth, MA for many years, she was president of the Weymouth Garden Club and an officer in the Massachusetts Federation of Garden Clubs. She moved to Duxbury in 1992 and was a member of Pilgrim Church of Duxbury. She worked for Dr. Barry W. Brodil in Holbrook and Hanover from 1976 until she retired in 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Janice S. Brodil and her husband Barry W. Brodil of Plymouth; her son, Dr. Allan J. MacQuarrie III and his wife Jeri (Chamberlain) MacQuarrie of Wexford, PA; her son, William B. MacQuarrie and his wife Mary E. (Linehan) MacQuarrie of Duxbury; and four grandchildren, Allan J. MacQuarrie IV of New York, New York, Alexander W. Brodil of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mei Elizabeth MacQuarrie and Li Olivia MacQuarrie of Duxbury. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., Kingston, MA. At 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, New England Division, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
