Ruth (Publicover) Erickson of Carver died on Oct 31,2007 at her daughters home in Carver at the age of 89. She was the wife of the late Toivo Erickson. Mother of Glenya Moakley of Carver. Sister of the late Muriel (Mrs Joseph) Curriea of Scituate. Grandmother of Kevin and Paul Moakley of Carver. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ruth was born on 4-16-18 at home in the Brant Rock section of Marshfield to the late Ellet S. and L. Blanche (Cleveland) Publicover. She was educated in Marshfield and survived the “Great Fire” in Brant Rock. Ruth worked at Edaville Railroad from 1950 till her retirement at the age of 77.She received an award from then Governor Michael Dukasis for having greeted in excess of 10 million customer and providing outstanding excellence in community relations.. Ruth was a member of United parish in Carver in which she was on the Women’s Society of Christian Service. Was a member of the Carver Garden Club, and Community Service Group. Ruth also served the Carver Old Home Day Association as Historian. Although no longer able to drive and participated she maintained a deep interest in changes taking place in Carver. In most recent times she enjoyed the Gateway Adult Center in Wareham. Calling Hours will be held on Friday Nov 2,2007 from 4-7pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home 116 Main St (RT 58) Carver. A Funeral service will be held on Sat Nov 3,2007 at the United Parish Church in Carver at 10am. Burial will be at a later date. Donations can be made to the United Parish Building Fund Main St Carver MA 02330.
