Obituary of Roy O. Herring

Roy O. Herring , of Duxbury died Sept. 29 at the Jordan Hospital. He was 79. Born on Oct. 4, 1927 in Hannibal, MI, he was the son of the late Roy and Iola (Gibbons) Herring. He was raised in Missouri and graduated from the University of Missouri. He served in the United States Army in WWII. He has resided in Duxbury for the past 37 years. He was employed for 38 years with Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. as a reinsurance underwriter. He enjoyed playing golf and enjoyed all sports. He is survived by his wife Maxine (Hudelson) Herring, two sons; Roy Herring & his wife Linda of Hanover and Craig Herring & his wife Cathy of Bristol, RI, a granddaughter Kate Herring, and a brother Robert Herring of South Carolina. A Funeral Service will be held on Thurs. Oct. 4 at the Pilgrim Church, Washington St., Duxbury at 10:00AM. Interment in Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury. Visiting hours from the Shepherd funeral home, 216 Main St., Kingston on Wed. 5-8PM.
