Obituary of Lisa Abraham Banul
Please share a memory of Lisa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lisa Abraham Banul of Plymouth, age 53, passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2018. Lisa was born in Boston, graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston, MA and also attended Quincy College for Early Childhood Education. She was a supportive wife to the late Richard Banul and a loving daughter of the late Frederick and Kathleen Abraham. She is survived by her sister Sonia Petrillo and her husband Richard Petrillo of Swampscott, her sister Deborah Leary and her husband William (Ed) Leary of Scituate, and her brother Frederick Abraham, Jr and his wife Christine Abraham of Plymouth. She was also the adoring aunt of 9 nieces, 1 nephew and the great aunt of six.
She loved playing Scrabble, connecting with everyone in her life, true crime books and movies.
Lisa was dedicated to helping those with special needs and spent essentially all of her work life supporting people with developmental disabilities until her own disabilities prevented her from continuing her career. It was amazing to see her persevere with the significant medical challenges she faced. She was proud of overcoming lung cancer and was living as best she could with cardiovascular problems. She asked for very little and was the first to volunteer in any capacity to help someone. She was one of the kindest people you could meet. She was loved by all who knew her.
Visiting hours for friends and family will be held at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 MainStreet Kingston, MA on Saturday January 27, 2018 from 9am-12pm.
Following the service there will be refreshments at the home of her niece Caitlin in Marshfield. Directions will be provided at Shepherd Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers please consider any of the following. A donation to the American Heart Association, The American Society specific to research and aid to treat Lung Cancer, or any organization that supports those with developmental disabilities. Any act of kindness while thinking of Lisa would be greatly appreciated.
