Obituary of Leonard W. Roby

Leonard W. Roby, 79, of Carver, passed away on January 8, 2018, after a year long battle with brain cancer.
Mr. Roby is survived by his significant other, and best friend of 30 years, Ingrid (Krueger) Holman. Loving father to Brenda Roby of West Palm Beach, FL, and Alice Greenwood of Osterville. Cherished grandfather to Andrew Johnson, and Jeremy Burke. Step Grandfather to Ashley (Holman) Draper, Courtney (Holman) Draper, Haley Holman-Buckley, and Payton and Miranda Buckley, and Great Grandfather to McKenzi Lynch, and Kane Jefferson. Brother of Waldo Roby of Lakeville, and Alan Roby. Son of the late Nathan and Alice (Knott) Roby. He will be missed by many.
Mr. Roby joined the Carver Fire Department in 1957, and attained Lieutenant in 1970, and Captain in 1975. He retired from the Fire Department in 1995 after nearly 40 years of dedicated service.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 12th from 4-7:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (Rt. 58) Carver. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13th at 10:00 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Central cemetery in Carver. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lenny’s name to: Carver Firefighters Assoc., “House Fire Relief Fund”, Carver Fire Department, PO Box 40, Carver, MA 02330.
