James H. Tunis, 63, of Kingston, MA passed away suddenly on November 28, 2017.
A lifelong South Shore resident, James was born and raised in Norwell and a graduate of Norwell High School class of 1972. James resided there until moving to Kingston in 2000. James was a dedicated employee of MCI Walpole for the past 25 years where he worked as a Steam Engineer. James was an avid backyard mechanic, boating and car enthusiast, fisherman, and motorcyclist. In James’s younger years he enjoyed hosting family and friends for many memorable barbecues, bonfires and Halloween parties. James was known for being a caring, loyal and generous friend to all that knew him.
James is survived by his sister Janice E. Hetzel and brother in law Robert Hetzel of Marlboro, MA., Nephew Matthew Hetzel of Medway, niece Jennifer Brown of Marlboro, and niece Heidi Schwab of New York. James is also survived by six grand nephews and one grand niece and many friends and colleagues in and around the community. James is predeceased by his father Harry A. and mother Mary E. Tunis.
A memorial and prayer service will be held on Saturday, December 16th at 10:00 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St (Rt. 14) Pembroke, MA. A graveside service will follow at the Washington Street Cemetery in Norwell, MA.
