Athletics were always a big part of his life. Bruce was a three sport High School athlete and an excellent golfer. In addition to playing sports he spent many years umpiring baseball and refereeing basketball for Kingston Youth Sports. He was long time member of the Hilltop Athletic Association in Kingston and he started the Randolph Golf league with his lifelong friends; a league that is still going strong today. He enjoyed watching all sports and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in football, basketball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, karate, music and dance. He enjoyed watching birds eat from the feeders that he always kept full. He took pride in maintaining his yard and always had a garden to be proud of.
