Martha Jane Carver, August 13, 2017. Martha was born in Quincy, Massachusetts on March 22, 1960, the second of four children born to Ralph and Marjorie Carver. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family following an unexpected cardiac event. Martha spent most of her life in Duxbury, MA, a place she was proud to call her home. She graduated from Duxbury High School in 1978 and attended Northeastern University before leaving to start employment. She began working in the actuarial department of Keyport Life Insurance Company in the early 1980s. After a number of years, she left to raise her family. Subsequently, she continued her career at Abington Savings Bank and in the financial services industry until she became the full-time caregiver for her father. Martha had a love of antiques and was in the process of starting her own estate and antique sale business. She had many friends and enjoyed spending time with them over meals, music and the simple pleasures of life. Of everything, Martha was most proud of her children and her two-year-old grandson. She found great joy in their success and was happiest when they were all together. She will be deeply missed by her father, Ralph; life partner, Rick Muraida; children, Sarah and her husband Bob de Flesco of Weston, FL, John Laputz of Duxbury, MA, Amy Laputz of Duxbury, MA, and Emily Muraida of Duxbury, MA; sister Elizabeth and her husband James Emmett of Duxbury, MA; brother, Charles and his wife Alicia Carver of Longwood, FL; grandson Robert de Flesco of Weston, FL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother and one brother. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 18th from 4-8:00 pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St (Rt. 106) Kingston. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 19th at 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Duxbury. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Martha’s memory to Boston Children’s Hospital or the American Heart Association.
