Obituary of Rita L. Ouellette

Rita Lorraine Ouellette of Pembroke died peacefully on July 13, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was 73 years old. Born in Springfield Ma on July 23, 1943 to Adrien and Adrienne (Rivard) Ouellette, she spent her childhood in both Springfield and Chicopee, MA. She was a longtime volunteer in the Pembroke school system and with the Pembroke Arts Festival. She was a member of St. Joseph's The Worker sodality, served on the Pastoral board, was an Eucharistic minister and a member of the St. Matthew's Guild. She also coached softball in her younger days. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, travel and amateur photography.
Rita is survived by her six loving children Karen Miglietta and her husband David of Pembroke, Laurie Pizzella and her husband Anthony of Pembroke, Wendy Peacock and her husband Robert of Hingham, Jim Bacis and his wife Lorraine of Raynham, Julie Bacis of Pembroke and Matthew Bacis and his wife Allison of Los Angeles, CA; her eight grandchildren whom she adored Anthony, Marissa, Lauren, Nicholas, Kristen, Stephanie, Rhiannon and Samuel. She is survived by her sisters Adrienne Nietupski and her husband John, Michelle Winofker and her husband Sander, her sister-in-law Vicki Ouellette, wife of her deceased brother, Robert Ouellette as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 19th from 4-7:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St (Rt. 14) Pembroke. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph the Worker, 1 Maquan St, Hanson on Thursday July 20th at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rita's memory to ALS ONE, 8 Industrial Way, Whitman, MA 02382.
