Robert A. Armstrong, 80, of Kingston passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 27th. Bob was the adoring husband of the late Pamela M. (Bongiorno) Armstrong and is survived by his children Bobby Armstrong and wife Heather of Kingston, Joseph Armstrong and wife Janice of Duxbury, Dawn McNiff and husband Chris of Kingston and Andy Phillips and wife Kristen of Kingston; 13 beloved grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Bob is predeceased by his siblings; Rita Page, Arthur Armstrong, Marjorie McCarthy and Ralph Armstrong. Bob graduated from Weymouth High School in 1955 and went on to serve in the US Navy prior to a lifetime of hard work including many years at Barney and Carey Lumber in Brookline, Milton and Quincy. Bob was extremely proud to be a devout Patriots fan and member of the Teamster Union Locals 379 & 25. He was blissfully married to his wife Pam for 32 years as a perfect model of love and stability. Bob enjoyed traveling the coast with Pam in their RV where they experienced many beautiful beaches and sunsets together. Humorous and cheerful, making new friends was one of Bob’s many admirable traits touching many lives over many generations. Visitation will be held at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, Kingston on Sunday, June 4th from 2 - 6PM, followed by a funeral service held at Saint Joseph Parish, 272 Main Street, Kingston, on Monday, June 5th at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation, 1 Patriot Place, Foxborough, MA 02035. The family of Robert Armstrong wishes to thank the McCarthy Care Center, Sandwich, MA.
