Obituary of David J. Bustin

David James Bustin, 23, died in the early morning of Wednesday, May 24, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He had been struck by a car while walking across the street in front of his apartment on Main Avenue in Warwick, Rhode Island.
David was raised in Pembroke, Massachusetts, the son of Robert Bustin and Karen (Manning) Bustin, graduating from Pembroke High School in 2012. He graduated from New England Technical Institute in April 2017 and had recently started a job as a welder at General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division, in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.
He is survived by his grandfather, George Manning of Boynton Beach, FL; his mother, Karen Bustin of Pembroke, Massachusetts; and sisters Lisa Bustin of Sandwich, Massachusetts; Jennifer Bustin of Weymouth, Massachusetts;and Susan Bustin of Hendersonville, Tennessee.
David was much loved by his family and friends for his quiet but unusually perceptive personality. He expressed a wry sense of humor, fascination with number theory, and wide-ranging curiosity. Among his extensive reading interests he especially pursued medieval fantasy and science fiction.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett st, Pembroke on Tuesday, May 30 from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 31 at St. Theclas Church in Pembroke at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Center Cemetery in Pembroke.
