Richard T. Critch, 60, of Halifax, passed away on May 5th. Beloved husband of 23 years to Patricia (St. Croix). Son of the late Muriel Critch (Marshall) and James Critch. Father to Jacob Critch, Evan Critch, Madeline Critch and Emily Critch all of Halifax. Brother to James Critch of Florida and the late Ronald Critch of Washington. Rich had many nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces. Rich was born in Chelsea and moved to Revere. As a young child moved to Pembroke. Graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1975. Went to school at University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Worked 30 years as a press man till his health force Rich to stop working. His passions was his family and coaching children. He coached the girls in basketball and softball and his sons in baseball. In 2011 Rich and the Halifax Hurricanes 12U went to the Babe Ruth Softball World Series in Andalusia, Alabama. Rich was his happiest when he was either sitting on the bench coaching or watching the kids play sports. As a coach, Rich has positively impacted many young athletes lives in Halifax. Whether he was teaching them how to hit or play the game. He was proud of his son Jacob for getting into the local union 103 and his son Evan for pursuing a job in UPS. He was very excited to see his oldest daughter Madeline go to Curry College in Milton Ma to study Nursing and play Softball, and his younger daughter Emily going to Southern New Hampshire University to study criminal justice and play division II softball. The family would like to thank the work of the staff at Life Care of Bridgewater. The nursing staff along with the Physical Therapy staff gave Rich great care. Also a thanks to Brockton VNA's nursing staff. Rich was also had outstanding treatment from the staff at Spaulding Rehap in Plymouth. A funeral mass will be held at St. Josephs church, Kingston, at 10:00 AM on Wednesday May 10th. Visting hours will be at the Shepherd Funeral Home 216 Main St (Rt. 106) Kingston on Tuesday May 9th from 4-8:00 pm. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Kingston.
