Obituary of Jacqueline Sally Johnson

Please share a memory of Jacqueline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jacqueline Sally Johnson "Jackie", aged 78, passed away February 6th at her home in Pembroke after a long illness. All five of her children, a granddaughter, and a daughter-in-law were by her side. Jackie was born in Lynn, Massachusetts to Russell and Marcella Hathaway, and along with her three brothers was raised in Maine and Massachusetts. Jackie's husband, Ralph William Johnson, preceded her in death. Widowed at a young age, Jackie overcame adversity, working hard to provide her children the love and tools for successful lives. Jackie was a talented seamstress, who shared her passion for creating custom doll clothing with two generations of young girls. Known for her high quality work and attention to detail, Jackie's handcrafted dresses were a staple under Christmas trees for over 30 years. She was a 50 year member of the Bryantville United Methodist Church and a friend to many in the Congregation. In her later years, Jackie wintered in Florida but always appreciated New England charm and its seasons. Jackie enjoyed travel, visiting exotic locations in Asia, several countries in Europe and numerous adventures in Alaska. One of her travel highlights was riding an elephant through the jungle in Thailand. Jackie enjoyed life's simple pleasures, remaining close to many high school friends. An early riser, she enjoyed searching for sea glass at Duxbury Beach and always loved a parade. Spring, with its joyous songbirds and blossoming daffodils was her favorite season. Jackie is survived by her children; Carl and his wife Anna of Chengdu China, Eric and his wife Nancy of East Bridgewater, Lisa Calchera and her husband Jim of Westminster, Vermont, Lois and her partner Rich of Pembroke, and Amy and her husband Brad of Fairbanks Alaska, and brothers Russell and his wife Roberta of Haverhill, Wayne and his wife Jackie of Venice, Florida, and Neil and his wife Annette of Arley, Alabama. Jackie also shared a dear relationship with her sister-in-law, Jeanne Haviland of Hingham. In addition, six grandchildren; Joshua Johnson of Halifax, Heather Johnson of Plymouth, Eric Labree of East Bridgewater, Matthew Johnson of Charleston SC, Kristen Johnson of South Bend IN, and Alyssa Johnson of Waco TX, and three great grandchildren. A service and celebration of life will be held in the Spring, details to follow. Donations may be made in Jackie's memory to the Bryantville United Methodist Church or the Norwell Visiting Nurse Association. With her beautiful smile and stunning green eyes, Jackie will always be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, sibling and friend. She will be missed dearly. To best honor her life, enjoy each day to the fullest and always be kind and thankful.
