Obituary of Paul R. Drummey

Paul R. Drummey, of Duxbury, passed peacefully on to Sailor’s Heaven, January 11, 2017 surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy (Wood) Drummey and survived by his children, Sue Newman of Duxbury; Sean Drummey of Surf City, NC; Mark Drummey of Johnstown, PA and their families. Paul was born in Watertown and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII, later attending Dartmouth College. He raised his family in Duxbury and enjoyed a long career in the floor covering industry. An avid sailor, Paul was a founding member of the Duxbury Frostbite Society and a longstanding member of the Duxbury Yacht Club. Paul was a devoted husband, father and member of Holy Family Church in Duxbury. He will be remembered for his dynamic drive and Irish charm. A funeral Mass is planned for February 18, 2017 at 10am at Holy Family Church, followed by a celebration of his life at The Village at Duxbury.
