Obituary of Charles T. Dwyer

Charles T. Dwyer Jr, 55, passed away on October 30, 2016. If you're reading this, you either loved Chuck or you're about to. Born in the spring of 1961 in Dorchester Center, he has always remained a "Dot Rat"; loyal to his family, true to his word, and full of pride for his hometown. He leaves behind his wife Michelle of Pembroke, mother Corrine, of Quincy, his brother and lifelong best friend John Russo and his wife Joan and daughter Diana of Milton, and his brother Michael and family of Revere. He loved his three late brothers Tommy, Tony, and Sean, and we know he's with them now. His greatest joys were in his children: Catherine, Meagan, Kelly, and Brendan. Catherine, 32, lovingly cared for Chuck in his last weeks and months and gave him his first grandchildren, Marisa and Kevin Jr.. He was so grateful for her dedication to his care. Meagan, 28, was just like him in school, whip smart and friendly with everyone. Her children, Aria, Vivian, and Theodore gave him great happiness and he was tickled by their off the charts head circumferences, inherited from him. His youngest, Kelly, 25, and Brendan, 19, gave him such purpose and pride. He admired Kelly's selflessness, humor (she could all ways make him laugh), and taste in movies. He was so proud of Brendan for his perseverance and diligence in school, often boasting to his friends, "B really found his niche!", beaming with pride. He was so happy to be expecting a son and it never waned. He leaves behind a work family, too. Chuck started at Boston Edison over 25 years ago. Now called EverSource, his coworkers were like brothers to him and were incredibly supportive through his illness. With them, he worked tirelessly and in dangerous conditions for the benefit of his family. Many overtime shifts in snow storms put Kelly and Meagan through Notre Dame Academy, gave Brendan guitar lessons and hockey seasons, and great memories made during family vacations throughout New England. Chuck was someone you wanted to be around. He made you laugh. He made you comfortable. He made you happy to be there. He had a deep, booming voice, and lots of hand gestures. He was a fantastic story teller but also a great listener of yours. He loved ice cream, Dunkin Donuts coffee, Newports, the history channel, and a good horror novel. He could often be found listening to talk radio, maybe some country music, or The Ramones. On a summer day, he was probably grilling with Ah-So sauce, wearing a sleeveless shirt and some XL white sneakers without socks. Like most people from Boston, he loved our teams. A lifelong fan of the Sox and the Celtics, he was thrilled to see them have such success recently. He was diehard for he Bruins and the Pats. He'd want you to know, Tom Brady's innocent! Our world has dimmed without Chuck's light, and we were all better off for knowing him. We will miss him always. We invite you to celebrate his life----- with family and friends. Visiting Hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St, Pembroke on Thursday, November 3, from 4:00 to 8:00PM with a Service at 7:00PM.
