Lloyd E. French, 95 of Largo, FL, formerly of Abington and Plymouth, died Sept. 17, 2016. He retired as a Major in the US Army serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Eastern Star and Mason's. Lloyd leaves behind the love of his life Ruth (Wills) French, his wife of 72 years. He was the beloved father of Robert French of Largo, Louise (French) Janhola and the late Richard Janhola of Pembroke. He loved his 5 granddaughters, Kimberly Eldridge, the late Kristen Janhola, Heather Brenton and her husband Robert, Kerry Sherry and her husband Patrick, and Stefanie Haen and her husband Gene III. He cherished his 13 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St, Pembroke Center on Sunday October 2 from 4-8PM. A Graveside service will be held on Monday October 3 at the MA National Cemetery, Bourne, at 1:15PM with the funeral procession leaving the funeral home at 12:15PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Make A Wish Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, One Bulfinch Place, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02114.
