Frederick W. Weston (Fred) of Carver, born on October 11, 1942, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2016 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Virginia (Shaw) Weston, his three children Tara DiSangro and her husband Vincent of Bourne, Steven Weston and his wife Renee of Carver and Dee Murray and her husband Jason of Plymouth. A loved Bampa of Kassi and Mitchell Weston of Carver. Loving brother of Nancy McElman and her husband Bill of Illinois, Kathleen Halunen and her husband Michael of Alabama, Bruce Weston and his wife Genecile of Maryland, and many loving nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his good friends Howard and Theresa Burgess and their family. Fred graduated from Electrical shop at New Bedford Vocational School in 1962, where he also played football for four years; going on to play six years of semi-pro football with the Mitchell Club in Middleboro. Fred, was a fourth generation cranberry grower and owned and operated his own electrical business. He was a member of the Carver Old Home Day Association, was bake master for 25 years; served 30 years as a Carver Volunteer Fire Fighter. He was a member of the Carver Sportsmen’s Club, an avid gun and bow hunter, and loved the outdoors. Fred, enjoyed snowmobiling with his family and friends, he loved music, dancing and watching John Wayne movies. Family meant everything to him, he was a proud republican and his favorite quote was “There is only one way to do things; the right way”. Visiting hours will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (rt. 58) Carver. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Union Church cemetery, South Main Street, South Carver.
