Obituary of William Cutting

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William “Billy” Cutting, of FL, formerly of Middleborough, was called home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2016 after a lengthy illness. He was 52. Born on June 14 1964 in Brockton, he was the son of Maureen Phillips of Middleborough. After graduating from Middleborough High School Class of 1983, Billy went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps. After honorably serving his country, he returned to Middleborough before ultimately moving to Englewood, FL where he made his home until his death. It didn’t long for Billy to make friends in Englewood (where he was more commonly known as “Cutty”), thanks to his sense of humor and generous nature, quickly making him the person everyone wanted to be around. Eventually, he met his wife Lauri, with whom he had a son, the apple of his eye, Brendan. Billy had many interests, including golf, baseball (Go Sox!), basketball, and football, but his greatest joy was spending time with his son Brendan and his grandchildren Sierra and Jake. He leaves behind his wife Lauri, son Scott Blaney (Mariah), son Brendan Cutting, and grandchildren Sierra and Jake Blaney, mother Maureen Phillips, sisters Susan Nelson (Scott) and Pam Phillips, brothers Bill Phillips (Cindy), Dan Delaney (Patricia), James Cutting (Amy), and Matt Phillips, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his step-father Bill Phillips, Sr. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cutty’s Family Recovery Fund on gofundme.com. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, August 26th at the Middleborough Lodge of Elks, 24 High Street at 7:00pm.
