Peter Rae Peterson, 60, passed away suddenly on July 19, 2016 in Burlington, VT. He was born on July 16, 1956 in Plymouth MA, the son of Beverly (Rae) Peterson and the late Peter Peterson. He was married for 32 years to his loving wife Nicole (DiBona) Peterson. Peter was a devoted father to his children, Andrew Peterson of Plymouth, MA and Julia Peterson of Williston, VT. He is also survived by his mother Beverly, sister Rae (Peterson) Paton, niece Lauren and nephew Casey of Plymouth, MA. Peter was a talented engineer and a prolific inventor, with more than 100 U.S. and International patents to his credit, the most recent being granted just last month. For the past seven years, he worked at Keurig Green Mountain in Vermont where he was Vice President/Beverage Quality. Among his many professional accomplishments, he was co-creator in the development and design of the Keurig Cold Beverage System. Peter was employed at Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. for the previous 22 years where he helped develop and create many new products including Craisins! Those who were fortunate to have known Peter and received his love and generosity, understand this great loss. His dedication to family, friends and his profession was exceptional. His love of life was evident while driving his Miata through the mountains of Vermont, seeing any concert (especially the Allman Brothers), and sharing his countless humorous stories. Peter was a New England sports superfan, spending hours cheering on his teams. He also enjoyed spending time fishing, boating and relaxing by the water. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 4-7p.m. at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street (rt. 106), Kingston. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 30, at 11:00 a.m., Church of the Pilgrimage, 8 Town Square, Plymouth, MA. With a reception to follow.
