Obituary of Bertha T. Cardillo

Bertha T. Cardillo, 95, of Kingston, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016. She was the loving wife of the late Anthony J. Cardillo. She is the daughter of the late James and Catherine Barr. She was a devoted mother to her children John A. Cardillo and his wife Cathy , Thomas Freeborn and his wife Claudia and Richard Mead. She is survived by her siblings Catherine Mead, the late James Barr, the late Mary Dalton and the late Susan Brown. She was the loving grandmother to Tim Cardillo, Christine Cardillo, Ron Chase, Deborah Cardillo and the late Kevin Cardillo . She was also the Great Grandmother to six great grandchildren and also was a loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Bertha was born in 1920 in Donegal, Ireland. She graduated from Jamaica Plain High School. She worked for the MA. Welfare department for many years and then retired at age 62. She was a member of Ireland's Own Travel Club and loved visiting the Catskills with her friends. She also loved cooking and entertaining for family and friends. Visiting Hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. Kingston on Thursday, May 26 from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Parish in Plymouth on Friday, May 27 at 10:00AM. Internment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston.
