Amedeo P. Tassinari, Jr. “Dayo”, 95, of Kingston, passed away on April 11, 2016. Let us celebrate his life. A long time resident of Kingston. Dayo is a World War ll Veteran of The Coast Guard. He was well known for his ownership of Tassy's Restaurant, together with his brother Mario. Along with Lorraine and Gerry their wives, they opened Tassys in 1948 for 40 years. People knew him as a hard worker, friendly, humble man, and always wanting to help others. Tassys was a family friendly venue, and was loved by all ages. They had the best fried clams! Dayo had a love for boating and fishing. Being a boat owner enabled Dayo and his family many fishing trips and meeting wonderful friends. Dayo loved music, sing alongs, playing music, his keyboard, and piano. After selling Tassys, Dayo worked at Miramar Retreat Center for 14 years as a chef. Dayo was happiest when spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family always came first, and he was so proud of each one.
Beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Forni) Tassinari. Loving father of Judith Madden of Norwell , Jim Tassinari and his wife Mary Lee of Plymouth, and Joanne and her husband Michael Lane of Pembroke. Son of the late Amedeo P. and Norina (Vezzani) Tassinari. Brother to the late Norma Holmes, Mario Tassinari, and Raymedo Tassinari. Cherished grandfather of 8, and great grandfather of 11. Mr. Tassinari is also survived by his dear friend Marie, as well as his many dear nieces, and nephews, as well as his extended family and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 16th from 8-9:30 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main (rt. 106) Kingston, with a funeral mass to follow at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 272 Main St, Kingston. Interment will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Plymouth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Make a Wish Foundation at www.wish.org and/or Wicked Good Cause at www.wickedgoodcause.org.
