Obituary of Ruth M. Pilkuhn

Ruth M. Pilkuhn, 78, of Pembroke, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was the loving wife to the late Frederick A. Pilkuhn. She is survived by her children, Douglas Pilkuhn and her daughter Cheryl McPherson. Ruth was the devoted grandmother to Aaron and Derrick Pilkuhn and Lauren and Andrew McPherson. She is also survived by her siblings, William Rogers Jr., the late Charles "Buddy" Rogers and Frank Rogers. She was the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and whose greatest passion was helping others. Ruth was very family oriented and she was the matriarch of the family. She was very involved in her family history and heritage, she always kept the family together. She lived in Pembroke for over 50 years. She worked at the Pembroke High School and the Pembroke Council on Aging. She enjoyed knitting and most of all being with her family. Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St. Pembroke on Tuesday April 5 from 5:00 to 8:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theclas Church in Pembroke on Wednesday, April 6, at 9:00AM. Internment will follow at 11:15 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
