Obituary of Anthony D. Botte

Anthony “Tony” D. Botte, age 88, of Duxbury and Plymouth, formerly of Roslindale, died on Monday, February 22, 2016. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Francis A. and Rachael B. (Barbera) Botte. Tony ran his own optical business. He started as a skilled, lens surface grinder and later became a career licensed optician in Boston until his retirement in 1992. Tony and his wife, Julia of 67 years raised five children while living in Roslindale – David of Haverhill, Edward of Revere, James of Plymouth, Julianne Murphy of Charlestown and Anthony Jr of Norfolk. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Rt.106) Kingston on Friday, February 26, from 3:00 to 7:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church in Duxbury on Saturday, February 27, at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Resident Council Fund at John Adams Health Care Center, 211 Franklin St., Quincy, MA 02169.
