Roland “Rolly” “Grandpa” P. Bedard, 90, of Pembroke passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, January 30, 2016 in Plymouth. Roland enjoyed fishing, reading, and building hand crafted model boats and planes. He worked as a commercial dragger fisherman his whole life until he retired from working on the “Christopher Andrew” out of Scituate Harbor. He is survived by his children, Rita Boulter and her husband Bill of Pembroke, Roland Bedard, Jr. of Kingston, Gerard Bedard and his wife Yvette of South Carolina, Linda Bedard of Plymouth, and Gerry Bedard of Florida. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 4th from 4-7:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St (Rt. 14) Pembroke. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 5th at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph the Worker, 1 Maquan St, Hanson. Interment will be at Center cemetery in Pembroke. Donations may be made in Roland’s name to: Norwell VNA, at www.nvna.org.
