Obituary of Joseph R. Slavin

Joseph R. Slavin Jr., 79 of Plymouth died Tuesday January 12 at BID Plymouth after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Sandra J. (Adamo) Slavin. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, son of the late Joseph and Della (Reis) Slavin, he moved to Massachusetts after serving 4 years in the Army. Mr. Slavin retired after 40 years in 2001 from the George Knight Company of Brockton. He enjoyed working around the yard, helping neighbors and most of all spending time with his wife and grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 50 years he is survived by his son Richard and his wife Emily, two grandchildren Brooke and Shawn, and many nieces and nephews. His son Christopher passed away in 1987. Calling hours will be held on Sunday January 17th at the Shepherd Funeral Home 116 Main St. (Rt.58) in Carver from 1:00 to 4:00PM with a Funeral service at 4:00PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the America Diabetes Association.
