Obituary of Doris Barrow

Doris (Ritacco) Barrow, age 88, passed away in her home in Plympton on Monday, December 28th with family by her side. Born in Cranston, RI of Italian immigrants, Angelina and Francisco Ritacco. She moved to Plympton In 1960 when she married David Barrow. Doris is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Barrow, owner of the Children's Garden Pre-school in Plympton and her son, Michael Manoogian, retired Halifax Police Chief and her daughter-in-law Wanda Manoogian. Her five grandchildren include Adam and Rachael Manoogian and Timothy, Mikayla, and Brianna Barrow. Her extended family includes nieces and nephews and many close friends. Doris was town treasurer and auditor in Plympton for many years. She managed a Howard Johnson restaurant and spent her later years as a bank teller for Rockland Trust. In her leisure time she found friendship and camaraderie through Bingo that she played regularly, often taking enjoyable trips to Foxwood with her many Bingo friends. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held at the Kingston First Parish Unitarian Universalist church at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 2nd, and a gathering to celebrate Doris's life will follow from 12:00- 2:00 at the Beal House, 222 Main Street, Kingston, MA. People are welcome to attend either or both events. Children are welcome as well.
