Barbara Ann (Barry) Bonomo of Carver, formerly of Hanover, died Tuesday October 21, 2015 at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, following a brief illness at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife for the past 60 years to Salvatore “Sam” Bonomo. Born in Boston on May 12, 1931, a daughter of the late Daniel J. and Lillian (Glynn) Barry. Barbara was a graduate of Quincy High School and had made her home in Carver for the past 32 years, previously living in Hanover for 28 years. Known for her wit and love of playing bingo, she enjoyed the many trips she made with Sam to Las Vegas and Foxwoods. Most of all Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt, creating a warm and loving home for her family and many friends, who came to know and love her throughout the years. In addition to her husband she was the mother of James R. Bonomo of Whitman, Daniel J. Bonomo and his wife Roanne of Plymouth; dear grandmother of Dana and Jenna Bonomo of Plymouth and great grandmother of Cameron, Serina and Farrah. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Barbara was the sister of the late Margaret McMahon, Frances Matthews, Mary Ann “Marie” Salvucci, Helen, Walter, Thomas and James Barry. A Funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady of Lourdes Church 130 Main St. Carver Tuesday October 27, 2015 at 10AM. Interment will follow at Hanover Center Cemetery. Visiting hours in the Shepherd Funeral Home 116 Main St. Carver Tuesday morning prior to the Mass from 8:30AM to 9:30AM. It was Barbara’s request that flowers be omitted and donations in her memory be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
