Carl D. Stone, 56, of Carver, MA passed away October 19, 2015 after a brief illness. He was born, in Oak Park, IL, to Le Roy C. Stone (deceased) and Hilda Stone (Di Benedetto) February 24, 1959. He graduated from Maine West High School in Des Plaines, IL. He attended Berklee College of Music and North Texas University. Carl was a master guitar player in the blues/jazz genre,recording engineer, and pro ­audio expert. He owned and operated Sheppard Industries, a state of the art recording studio in Brockton, MA, before settling in Carver. He was married to Julie Dennis on July 22, 2006 and started a family. Carl remained passionate about his music career while being a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He loved cooking, trips to the beach, and ‘making memories’ with his family. He leaves behind his wife, Julie Stone; three children, Jesse, James, and Josiah, all of Carver. Carl is survived by his mother Hilda Stone, brother Thomas E. Stone and his wife Anne, of Stow, MA. Funeral arrangements are being made by Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Carver.Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, October 24, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. Funeral Service will be at 1:00PM, immediately followed by a gathering of friends and family at the Stone family home. A private burial, in Stow MA, will be held on November 7, 2015. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to The Blues Foundation HART Fund providing assistance to Blues musicians and their families in times of great financial need due to medical emergencies.
