Obituary of Sylvia S. Hoyer

Sylvia Hoyer (Gowans) of Centerville, MA, formerly of Albany, NY, born in Toronto, Canada, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 21, 2015 after a long illness. She was the loving wife of the late George Hoyer and a devoted mother to her four daughters, Tracy Lajeunesse and her husband Tom of Bradenton, FL, Julie Hoyer of Gansevoort, NY, Cindy Cooney and her husband Bill of Duxbury, MA and Carrie McInerney and her husband John of East Walpole, MA. She was a loving Nana to her many grandchildren – Timmy Barter (his wife Amanda) Joshua Barter, Nicholas Edgington, TJ Lajeunesse, Tashina Lajeunesse, Meghan Lanci (her husband Joey), Hannah Corrigan, Brendan, Lindsay & Ryan Cooney, Kiera, Sean & Emma McInerney. She is survived by her dear friend and sister-in-law Virginia Hoyer and several nieces and nephews. She was a stay at home mom and was always happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and was always trying to make people smile. Visiting hours will be held Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Rt.106) Kingston from 5:00 to 8:00PM. A Celebration of life, will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10 am, at the Pilgrim Church in Duxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Sylvia Hoyer to the Hospice of the South Shore, at www.hospicefed.org.
