Roberta Johndrow, of Pembroke, formerly of Quincy, died Sunday morning, August 9th at the age of 88, peacefully, and comforted with family at her side. Roberta lived a full busy life with experiences such as hitch hiking to California, and back as a teenager, taking drum lessons from famous big band great, Barron Hugo, and riding Indian Motorcycles with her late husband Peter Johndrow. She was an active an accomplished member of the Pussy Foot Rollers, a roller skating team in her youth. She also excelled at dancing, was a welder on large Navy ships in World War II, and became a Navy veteran. She enjoyed a great camaraderie with her grandson Web Beveridge. Roberta's late sisters were Barbara Hutchinson and Dorothy Ditullio. She is survived by her daughters; Alana (Ginger) Nash of AZ, Dorothy Beveridge and her fiancé Kevin (Boomer) Kennedy of Plymouth, Cindy Johndrow and her boyfriend Rob Barrett of Pembroke, and sons Peter Johndrow and his wife Nancy of North Brookfield, Kevin Johndrow and his wife Laura of Halifax, and David Johndrow and his wife Janet of Hanover. Roberta also leaves her grandson Web Beveridge and his wife Alegria of Boston, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A gathering to celebrate Roberta's life will be at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St, (rt. 36), Pembroke, on Monday, August 17th, from 6-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to your local no kill animal shelters or MSPCA would be appreciated.
